Reverse lights and third brake light not working. Chevy cobalt ss supercharged

I have a 2006 chevy cobalt ss supercharged manual
transmission.  My reverse lights  on my trunk along with the
third brake light on the trunk are all out. Could this be
because of that sensor on the transmission?  Or a simple
fuze? I just got the car today and wanted some knowledge
before I try chasing the wiring.

Well checking fuses is not difficult and is always a good place to start.

I checked. Fuses are good. Bulbs are good. I'm thinking it's that switch on the transmission. But also from what I remember the back window defogger is on the same fuse as the third brake light. There are many more problems with this car but I'm trying to take them on one by one.
