After researching your question with the resources available to me, I was unable to find an answer. I would suggest you contact your dealership's service department to inquire. They probably will know if there is a temperature shutoff switch in your vehicle. Vanessa, Chevrolet Customer Service

overheating will cook the oil and burn it if it gets bad enough it will cause cam sensor problem which it probably wont start
