tòok it to an auto parts store and they
said it was the catalytic converter. #3

month later light goes on again. #4
took it back to auto parts store they
read it was the catalytic converter

1 Answer

07 outback 2.5L auto, non-turbo, 220k. I had the same problem. Replaced upline O2 sensor. Cleaned MAF sensor. Both are easy to get to. No special tools needed. Go on youtube. And search both. The new upline sensor gave me about 4 mpg. The MAF sensor cleaning caused the CEL and blinking cruise control lights to go out. I am not a mechanic. It took me less than an hour to change upline O2 sensor. And about an hour to clean the removed MAF sensor with electrical contact cleaner that I had on hand. Good luck.
