Why is my check engine light on?

2012 Subaru Outback suddenly check engine light went on, blinking cruise
control and brake light.  I was driving when this happened.

Visit your local auto parts store and have them scan the computer for trouble codes. Post the codes and we can help further. There's over one hundred things that can cause the check engine light to come on. Jim
