Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2002 Subaru Outback with 170,000 miles died completely one night in March, we replaced the altenator and it ran ok for a couple of weeks then brake and battery light came on, replaced altenator  again and lights never went out. The car left me on the side o the road again. Any ideas what else could be wrong.

I would have your entire electrical system checked out, voltage regulator, electronic ignition, ground wires, etc.... something is shorting out your system... just my two cents.... good luck.
