Actautor in 2006 Impala

Asked by Marnielane Sep 17, 2018 at 10:22 AM about the 2006 Chevrolet Impala 3.5L LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Husband disconnected the actuator that was
causing the clicking on my passenger side until we
can replace it and now today the check engine light
is on. Would the actautor being disconnected
cause the check engine light to come on?

You are probably correct that a failing or disconnected actuator can set a check engine light. The engine computer is very good at detecting and defining what's going on. You can scan for the code and see for sure. Or just fix the problem and clear the code and it will be okay again.
