By an ECU that is sold as plug and play. Most are sold this way.
Most places that sell them online take information from you regarding the vehicle and program it so you can drop it in ready to go. If you took one from another vehicle it would need to be reflashed to a factory setting that matched your vehicle.
When putting in a brain box does it come already programmed or does it have to be programmed after it's been installed
