Low miles on a 2005 Prius

Asked by NicoleRM Jul 30, 2018 at 09:36 PM about the 2005 Toyota Prius FWD

Question type: General

I am looking at buying a 2005 Prius Hatch with only 45,000 miles on it. It has
been very well maintained and owned by and elderly man. Is it bad that it has
such low miles? My husband seems to think that might be bad because things
haven't been lubed enough or something. Everything seems to be fine with it
and it runs great!

I bought a 2005 Prius 2 years ago from the local junkyard, er, used auto parts n cars dealer. It had more like 79k miles, and it's a really good car. No problems. NB Maybe the old fellow has maintenance records of some sort? You might also want to get it checked out - but thoroughly - by a trusted mechanic, tho I must say I've had somewhat mixed results following this dictum over the years. Mark in Mass.
