My 1992 Toyota 4Runner won't go into gear correctly

When I first put it into gear it might make it about
20-30 feet but after a couple seconds a minute it
won't move at all in gear

Check the transmission fluid level. If it is full, you likely have worn clutches and need the transmission rebuilt.

I really know nothing about cars and I don't have any money I was looking at some of the other questions on this site they mentioned transmission fluid pump A buddy of mine mentioned torque converter another friend suggested transmission solenoid I don't even know where to start

I have a 92 Toyota 4Runner my ex take the clutch out so I had a clutch put in Had the master cylinder,Slave cylinder change to.My question is with the brand new clutch I have no gears but If i shut it off and put it in gears it shifts fine when the truck is off
