My Toyota has a hesitation while driving occasionally and idling high in park

Asked by Keesha Jan 04, 2015 at 12:34 PM about the 2001 Toyota Avalon XLS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car at a steady speed fuel shuts off like
a jog in and out while driving occasionally.
Then it idles high all the time in park.  And
turn on the air and it smothers out.

Sounds like possibly dirty/faulty idle air control valve or dirty throttle plate.

I had the same thing in my 2007. After about 30miles of driving it ran awesome. After the 600 mile trip I had 33.5mpg
