Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My car is a Toyota Avalon 2003, it runs as usual but when I stop at a red light it wont accelerate when I press the gas, the engine keeps running and after a few seconds it starts accelerating. Mechanic said he has no idea what is going on and that could be my imagination since he drove car for few minutes and nothing wrong happened Any idea?

My only thought would be your transmission ..Even automatic transmission have a clutch and gearbox .. In the old days my first thought would be to say it sounds like your transmission is " slipping " meaning its not shifting correctly .. I would take your car to a Toyota dealer and talk to a service manager ..
I'm taking it today. Thanks a lot
