What would make my tale pipe. Smell like
gas. And my car spit and sputtering

Tom's answer is the best but it could also be caused by a spark plug not firing. Since spark plugs are typically cheaper,have your shop check them before digging into the injectors. Bottom line is that unburned fuel is getting through your engine and exiting via the exhaust.
