Yes, sounds like the evap system relief valve is stuck open

Are you sure it's not a bad/leaking Gas Cap?

Yes, I am sure. The vapor is so strong inside the car that I get nauseous just driving a couple blocks. I read that it's possible to remove the canister and blow it out with an air compressor? I know that new they run around $250+.....might try the yards and see if I can go pull one off myself??:

Any warning lights on or flashing? Use caution when "blowing out" an evap system with compressed air. You could blow the canister apart. Run your hand UNDER the canister and see if there is an opening with a filter inside. You might be able to remove that filter and clean it.

Any good news about the issue with this vehicle?

Same as my 1994 Toyota Camry LE. No Engine Warning light just excessive strong gas fumes filling the inside of the car when I drove it. Didn't smell gas outside or in the engine area. No leaks beneath it. It stayed at the mechanics for a week because they could not smell fumes until they took the back seat out and checked the tank. It had cracked. I replaced it. It got rid of the fuel smell coming inside for the most part but I kept smelling slight bursts of fuel on the driver's side but outside was so bad I couldn't stand to roll down the windows. I read a lot of these threads (thanks to all who posted) and had the charcoal canister replaced as well, but I still get a slight burst of fuel smell inside while driving and a slight smell outside back right. It is much better. My next attempt to clear it completely is to have an emissions test and a smoke test performed to find possible leaks . It's been such a great car, I hate to lose it easily. 1994CamryStillCheckingAt210000Miles

I have a 1994 Toyota Camry 2.2l le, I have a very strong smell of gas inside the car on the driver's side and behind the driver's passenger seat. It is so strong that as if someone has spill gas inside the car. I started getting a headache and feeling nauseous. I tried to find any fuel leaks for a few days and there is none. Under the hood (engine) and under the car fuel line, no leaks and no smell. It's just inside the car. For 2 days, the mechanic did a fuel tank smoke test with a UV Violet Light test, nothing shows up, no gas leak anywhere, no check light. The gas cap was replaced with a new one, still cannot figure out. Any ideas that might help me to fix the issue. This is a great car with me for 20 years with and still running well except this gas smell issue. Anyone can help ???

I drive a 1994 Camry LE 2.2 when I brake hard or accelerate quickly or basically ride the gas keep it going you know 40 cruising with a steady foot on the pedal, or maybe just hugging an exit ramp coming off the highway at 40 miles an hour you know how some exit ramps you keeping a steady Pace at 40 hugging it..I get the most exhausting excruciating fuel raw fuel smell coming through my vents it's so bad no leaking fuel gas mileage is still perfect no warning lights everything is perfect with my car except for the raw fuel smell coming through my vent where I can't even put my children in the back seat

I also switch the air conditioner from fresh air to recirculating mode no difference at all I still get the worse fuel smell coming through my AC vents
