Instrument Cluster, hard shifting

Asked by Hspiekermeier77 Nov 10, 2018 at 03:16 AM about the 1995 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My boyfriend decided to give the engine a spray
down. After that the instrument cluster went out.
The only gauge that works is the one for the
engine temp. Fuses are fine. The other thing I
noticed is that the car has a hard time going from
first to second now and when you let off the gas
there is a slight jerk when it slows down. Is this
due to the instrument cluster being out?

keep your boy friend away from the car , don't let him touch anything , you need a good mechanic now to find out what got screwed up from spraying the motor down

I wasn’t looking for rude or sarcastic comments. I am a single mother and I don’t have money for a mechanic. I was looking for real help.
