1997 Camry Oil Light

Asked by GMMII Aug 25, 2019 at 06:43 AM about the 1997 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1997 Camry LE's oil light comes on, and stays on, when I shut off the car.
It turns off after the car starts.  I replaced the pressure switch, but the problem
persists. When I disconnect the connecting wire, the light goes off as well.  The
port into the block looks clear as well.

I haven't, as the light goes off when the engine is running, and the new pressure switch shows the same results, I did not think that could be an issue. With the car off, key removed, the light remains on. If I unplug the switch, the light does not off.

I have not, I ran out of time. My plans are to do so Sat AM. I did discover that the Gauge fuse was blown. I replaced it and the symptoms continue. I will check the pressure next. Thanks again for the help TDolby.
