Go to autozone or advance and let them run the code on your car,it is free, they will tell you the code, and what it mean,s.

Thanks. But the light is not permanent.. Just comes up for like 2 seconds and off. I only discover that if I make right turning... Pls do I have answer to my second question that says...my RMP gets up to 6 if I while accelerating up to 60. Its that Norma?

No, this is not normal, should be around 3 thousand rpm,s at 60 mile and hour, sound,s like you may need to check your transmission fluid,if rpm,s are getting that high ,may be tranny slipping, check the fluid.

Have done the transmission oil change with the filter change yesterday but my rpm still goes high. So what next. Can dia be catalytic converter although no check light on.

No catey would not make it rev up like this,i think your over drive gear may be going out in the transmission,if it take,s off normal and change,s gear,s good untill you hit overdrive, then you get the high rpm,s at that speed,

Thanks sir. Pls what do you mean by over drive gear may be going out in the transmission?

144,885

Meaning ,when you reach the speed in which you have changed all gear,s 1,2,3 then there,s over drive gear,at 50 mph you have reached the over drive gear, and if your rpm,s are up over 3 thousand at this speed, the gear is slipping in the transmission, you said you are at 6 thousand rpm,s at 60 mph, your car should be moving 100 mph ,at that rpm.

OK sir. It this a problem to my car? Do I ignore it or its has a negativ impart on my engine...is that what makes my engine noisy on the higher speed? Coz I noticed that noise at 50 mph above.

The light you are seeing at 8 at your rpm guage is a warning light telling you the rpm,s are in the danger zone,to high of rev on engine.

At this point you have nothing to lose, from what you have told me,the tranny is slipping, you may try some additive to the tranny, such as lucas tranny treatment, may help and can,t hurt at this point, and to answer your question,it is not good on your motor and could cause damage to it.

Also take the car to a reputable transmission shop, they will usually check your car for free, then at least you can be sure. You are NOT required to leave the car anywhere, don't feel pressured, if you are then they don't deserve your business.
