99 Toyota Camry Died while driving...
Asked by DC83 Mar 18, 2017 at 07:45 AM about the 1999 Toyota Camry LE
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I was driving on the highway doing 100 km
/ hr when all of a sudden my car lost power
to the engine and died...
Since it's been towed it hasn't been able to
turn over like it used to. Nothing visibly
wrong that I could see, no warning lights
etc...
Any thoughts?

Gotta start looking somewhere, I would start by having the battery checked and the alternator checked.
Although you did not notice any warning lights on or flashing...I would be inclined to Scan the computers for Codes. That would be the second step in the diagnosis. Next..check all the fluid levels before you attempt a restart. No sense in cranking and starting an engine with no oil in it.
Thanks all. My mechanic is taking a look at it today thankfully... Hopefully fixed by next week after parts etc
my 2005 Camry just died as I was driving over lake fork bridge. Battery checked out ok, the dash lights and radio still work, but the car will not turn over and start.
Any warning lights on or flashing when the engine is running? Try a restart with someone and tap on the starter motor with a small hammer. Get back with results.
