99 Camry XLE V6 with fauft code P0773 problem.

Asked by Hai Aug 22, 2016 at 09:22 PM about the 1999 Toyota Camry XLE V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 99 Camry XLE V6 fails smog-check with code P0773. I haven't found any
wrong on the car performant. The check engine is on and off for a while, then
back to on again. Does shift solenoid fail? A mechanic at test station isn't sure
that changing shift solenoid will fix the problem. Any advice will help.

Might be interesting to see what a Tranny Shop would want in $$$$ to fix this issue. I seem to remember this particular Solenoid is externally located. A tranny tear down was not required. You might consider a "Fluid Exchange Procedure for this issue. Good Luck.
