2001 Toyota Camry ce Dash gauges stop working..slight stall

What Engine and Mileage? When the engine is running do you notice any warning lights on or flashing? Can you get this vehicle to a local parts store? Some will Scan your computers for free?

Last chance garage, thanks for the info.to answer..Car has stalled.on the way to auto parts store. Toyota 2001 Camry ce 4 cyl . over 106000 my mom was the only owner. after checking relay and fuses yesterday. No warning lights. tried jumping it this morning.but has clicking no noise, the only thing i hear is a click when trying to turn over. Did someone steal a part from my car or is this normal. This is mind blowing. Really

You will have to have this vehicle diagnosed by a repair facility.

I been doing everything thing you said except that fluid check new to me but i bren at my fluid out of instincts but don't know....plus i also got ut to a shop. Right now they doin what we did. With no answer. crazy. I will update since i have no clue either. Last car garage, Even crazier..Someone did hit my car last month tho. Never had a problem before that. Never been in a accident either.

Ok. Let's see what their diagnosis is. If it appears to you they might be unsure of what the root cause of your problems are....suggest they check the .....INTEGRATION RELAY......for moisture and signs of overheating. ,

Oh man did i fix it. Yes. But they didn't know anything for days. Even after i told firestone what the problem most likely was. But in the end it was wires and a fuse. Shifting from N to D after a crank.Who knew. We kinda did. But can you explain this more.

To bad about the damaged hood. They should make good on the damage they caused. I would need more details on the ultimate fix to comment on same. Good luck.

2005 Toyota Camry le 2.4l changed the alternator and didn't disconnected the battery.i had the alternator wire hit the engine.n ow nothing works.only the head lights.it does not star or click.put new starter.replace all fuses and relays even if they looked good.put new computer and body control module.and still nothing.

Suggestion. Look at the cover for the under hood fuse and relay box. See if there is a 100...or...120 AMP Fuse indicated. This fuse is the ALT fuse and it is bolted in place. Usually that fuse box has to be pulled and disassembled for replacement of said fuse. Better to chect if first with a 12 volt test light or digital volt meter. Google for correct procdure.. get back with results.

I changed the 120 amp fuse but still nothing.and in the body control module I only get power to the CCM.and dome light.the rest of the fuses in the back are not getting power.

And there is power on both sides of the 120 fuse.

Do you have power on both sides of the 30Amp EFI Main fuse. Key ON?

Yes.i have power EFI fuse.but there is not power to the fuses in the body control module.i put new relays on the back of it.but still no power is going to the body control module.and I think that is the problem that I am having.but I have not figured out the wires that give power to it.there is two thick black and green wires that are connected to the same plug that go into the back.but this two wires are screw together to the side of the body of the car.like grown wires.how can I find what wire gives positive current to the body control module.

At the BCM.....see if you have 3 blue wires. 2 of them should have 12v key on.that would be connecter A1...and...connector B..terminal 6. These 2 wires go to the 7.5 Amp AM 2 fuse. Is this vehicle Push Button Start? Does it have a theft deterrant system?

It is too dark to see now.it star with a key.is not push button start.it doesn't have a chip in the key.so I am not sure about the theft deterrent sistem

When you have some time...suggest you tell us the story behind this event. What happened? Why did you replace the alternator?

My battery light came on.so I stopped and disconnected the battery,and the car stopped running.that told me,the alternator wasn't charging. So I bought another.(I took the old one back to auto zone.they texted it and it was bad)but when I was installing it.i didn't disconnect the battery.so the wire from the alternator hit the engine block,and created a big spark.that was when disconnected the battery(too late)after I finished installing the alternator,tried to star the car and nothing happened.put a new starter.new battery.got a new computer and body control module specific to the car same numbers.new relays.new fuses.(even if they looked or texted fine)and still no star.i am going to check the wires that you told me and see if they got power.because all the fuses and relays in the body control module don't have power. except the fuse to the dome light.and ecu computer.

Ok...suggestion...we use a Digital Volt meter to diagnose electrical problem....more precise and safer than test lights. About $20.00 from Walmart.

I am back.i checked and found the two blue wires that give power to the control module.but with the key on there is not power going to the big two square relays on the back.let me ask you.if I have a bad neutral safety switch on this car.will it cause the radio.fan.instrument cluster.windows.brake lights.not to work?

Check the 7.5 amp AM2 fuse. Check for 12 volts DC on both sides of that fuse. Key on...black lead of volt meter to battery ground...red lead to the fuse in question. Bad NSS?...unknown at this time.

Ok...give us the bad news first.

The only 7.5 amp fuses that I have are the dome fuse and there is power in it.and the 7.5 amp fuse for the obd,and there is not power to it.and they are under the dashboard in the body control module.the only am2 that I have is a 30 amp fuse under the hood.and there is power going to it.my car is a Toyota Camry le 2.4l.thanks for your help man.i called the dealer and they want $120 for towing and $200 for diagnostic.and I imagine the may want a $1000 dollars at least to fix anything.they are very expensive here.the man that owned the car before me.was charged $1.400 for the abs.

Ok....if you have no power to that OBD fuse....see if you have power to that fat black wire going to the Alt.. if you have NO power to that fat black wire...then the 120 amp ALT fuse inder hood...must be blown. You have to check BOTH sides of the fuse. Look carefully. Check the sides of the fuse. Is there a little window you can see through? As i recall...this fuse is BOLTED in place. You have to DC the battery...then lift the fuse block to get to the bolts. Google your make...model...year and 120 amp Alt fuse....video. Get back with results.

Yes I have power.i have a new 120 amp fuse.for the alternator.on both sides.

Ok...see if you have power on both sides of the 30 amp EFI fuse...and...the 10 amp EFI numder 1 fuse

Here is another thought. Do you know how to use a Jumper Wire? Must be very carefull here. We use FUSED jumper wires. Connect one end of JW to the starter motor. Not the fat black wire...but the other thinner wire. Momentarily ...briefly...touch the other end of that JW to the positive side of the battery. The engine should crank over.

Yes.i did what you said.and the engine cranks over. And now I am getting power to the body control module.but still no power to the instrument cluster radio.fan.windows.does not come off from park.put new ignition switch.but still nothing.no crank with the key on.thanks for your patience.

Ok...what is the next step? We seem to be doing a lot of fishing....but...we are not catching much. Would you be willing to check for power on both sides of the fuses located in the Fuse...Relay...boxes under the Hood of this vehicle? Key on...make a list of fuses...the amperage....and the ID. If I have a list of the fuses that have NO power...with the key on...I might be able to pin point the root cause of this issue.

Thank you last chance garage..by doing what you told me,checking the fuses.i found out that the EFI fuse had a short.so I fallowed the wire (black an yellow) into the dash.and figure out the problem was with the body control module.called Toyota and was told $1000 for it.$220 for the relays.and $340 to installed.and that it had be reset to my car. went into eBay bought one with the same numbers,for $70 dollars and it came with all the relays.changed it an replaced the burn wire.and thank God.my car is running better than before.i drove it 220 miles last night.thanks for your help and patience.to who ever is reading this.do not buy parts from Toyota.you can get in eBay and buy anything for you car at 10% of what it will cost you at Toyota.
