2002 Toyota Camry Le no crank no start

Asked by wiliam Aug 11, 2019 at 11:48 AM about the 2002 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My toyota began cranking weakly and then one
day it cranked but didn't turn over the first attempt
but on the second attempt it turned over like a
champ unfortunately after I parked it for 8 hours
when I went to start it it wouldn't crank or start
just a click. Could it be the starter or alternator? I
had replaced the battery about a month prior to all
this happening. Any advice would be greatly
appreciated.

Turn your headlights on your vehicle, if you see light it is not the battery, if you do not see light, you need to replace the battery, it might be the alternator if the vehicle is cranking. If the battery is good just replace the starter.

The battery was replaced about a month ago and the headlights are bright, it doesn't crank. The dash lights up and the car beeps like normal when I stick the key in but nothing happens, I tried jumping it with my wife's car and still nothing. I'm about to have it towed to a mechanic but I would like to at least have an idea of what it could be.

It is the starter. 120 labor tops plus part. call and ask for part to have an idea on the price. Regards
