engine stpped while driving, gas 1/2 tank, new battery, won't start anymore

Either your fuel pump died or your timing belt broke. Have someone turn the key to the Accessory position and remove the gas cap and listen in the hole for the fuel pump humming. If no hum, the pump or the fuel pump relay are bad. If you hear the pump humming and still not starting, you may want to pull back the timing cover and look inside.
