Have a 2002 Camry LE that will not spark 4 cylinder engine..

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
The engine turns over and it sounds as if the timing chain is broke High
pitched spin, but the chain is intact. Any idea where to start in identifying what
is causing this? Crank position sensor. I don't believe that this model has an
igniter. I will check. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Clarification needed. Does this engine CRANK properly...but the engine will not fire up and run? Does the engine crank...but...makes an unusual sound while cranking?
Hi Sorry for incomplete data. The engine will turn over, but it spins as if the timing chain is broken. It has a higher pitched sound than normal. Checked the chain and it is still intact. Checked for spark and did not get one. Sprayed fluid in the throttle body but did not get a start due to no spark. Hope this helps.

I would be inclined to Check for computer codes.....remove the spark plugs and check compression.....then....because of your diagnosis of "no spark" I would check the crank sensor and for power to the ignition module.
Thanks for your help. Will get on it this weekend. Really appreciate you.
Where's the crank sensor located?
did you ever figure out what it was?
