Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced the valve cover gaskets and spark plugs on my 2002 Camry. It runs
great but now does not shift to overdrive. Did I reassemble the wiring
connections  correctly. Did I miss something?

Check the transmission to see if the fluid level is correct; that's important, as low fluid is a leading cause of shift problems. It might be wear/leaks in the valve body caused by defective seals & rings. It could be a defect in the PCM or the TCM, or if your speedometer also has issues, it could be a bad VSS. Or it might not be in the transmission itself, but is engine related; like a problem with the TPS or the MAP/MAF sensors. Could even be a bad alternator failing to supply enough current for the systems to run properly.

What makes 2002 Toyota Camry le v6 not to switch from drive to overdrive after car warms up? When cold it shifts from drive to overdrive and normal rpm at 3.5 at 70 mph but after warms up it stays at 4 to 5 and didn't switch between drive and over drive!
