electrical problem on a 2005 camry

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Just brought a used 2005 camry with 136k. It will often have the lights and radio
fail momentarily when you either push the brake pedal, use the turn signal, or
turn on the light switch. Can anyone give me a clue.

Sounds like a bad ground. When you activate the brake light, turn signal, or interior lights the switches all complete the individual circuits to ground to make the light(s) come on. You'll need a wiring diagram to find the common ground connection for all the lights involved. If you have an aftermarket stereo, I'd start there. Hope that helps! Jim
Look in the trunk on the left....driver side...under the floor and side panel mat. Check the wiring harness by wiggling same while the lights are on. Do said lights flicker?

I did just as you said and there was no flickering. Something that I noticed is that when it rains the problem is greatly lessened. Just so happens when I bought the car it was on a rainy day. Could this be the negative battery cable?
Indeed. Suggest you Google make model year for a tutorial. Keep in mind that this cleaning procedure might require you to disconnect said battery cables. You will loose memory presets like radio stations..... seat...mirror etc.
