05 Cavalier Won’t start

Asked by msisley98 May 07, 2019 at 10:21 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 05 cavalier that won’t start. Brand
new starter has been installed and even then
it wouldn’t start. Replaced crank shaft
position sensor, still won’t start. Changed oil,
won’t start. Battery is brand new a month
ago. Spark plugs are sparking. I don’t know
what else it could be. Ignition is also fine. I
turn the car on and everything works, engine
cranks, just won’t turn on. Lights are fine and
every accessory works.

The battery has a full charge and connections all good? Engine cranking you have spark at the plugs. Did you use a gage and check proper fuel pressure? Compression is good? Any applicable trouble codes? Another thought is your security system, when you try to start and let go of key, is the security lamp on the dash flashing, if so, let it flash, after 10 minutes, it should stop flashing. Cycle the key off. Hopefully the next key cycle it will start? That's all I can think of, at the moment. good luck
