Alternator Battery or WTF

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2004 TOYOTA CAMRY SOLARA
before it died the navigation
screen kept turning all white and
then was ok back and fourth
several times. Tried to
accelerate but only the rpms
went up not the speed. Then it
just died. . .
Just like that.
It was able to be jump started
then died again . . .
What's my steps for object of
elimination ?

charge battery,whats the voltage 12.2 or more.,., start ebgine. check voltage at the + and - posts again..if it is not higher than what you had then the alt is shot...assuming you checked the basic things,clean,tight cables...also could be a bad batter they do short out..this is something you can do at home ..report back..

Don't have volt meter but the lights were still on and pretty bright before it died while taking exit

try your altantor. if its bad it could be causing surges and or shorts in your cars electric system. test your altanatorto see. my best off the top guess. ive seen it happen very much the same in a navagator.
