Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can i use an oil grade of 10 30W on the 2005 Chevy Classic with 22000 mileage?  If not what grade is recommended.  Most driving is done in city with stop & go driving.  Some heavy transport.

Actually mitchell I think the 10w30 oil is probably the recommended oil for your engine although it's unlikely you'll do any harm by using a 10w40. Check the recommendation in your owners manual (check with the dealer if you don't have one) and follow that whenever possible, but a 10w30 should be fine. Good luck.

5-30 only. For city driving I'd go to synthetic oil.
