Hi bmx118, I would first replace the timing belt on your 1990 Toyotal Celica GT. Try and get it running again and then make a decision as to whether or not you need a new engine. You could very well have caused serious internal damage to the engine when your timing belt broke. Hope this helps! Good luck!

The 2.2 is a non-interference engine, so hopefully when the timing belt let go and you were going slow, the pistons didn't make contact with the valves. This happened to me and my "99 Celica with the 2.2 was fine.
