If oil is leaking down onto your spark plugs this will not cause oil to go out the tailpipe unless you are pulling the spark plug out everyday after you drive allowing the oil to go into the combustion chamber. You may have other issues that are causing smoke from your exhaust. I would recommend a compression test before completing any repairs to rule out any major failures.

Piston ring blowby and valve seats/guides leaking will give you blue smoke out the tail pipe. Leaky valve covers dripping onto exhaust headers will make smoke from engine compartment (and smells bad), but not out tail.
