Does the 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt have rear control arms

Asked by Guru8BV3M Dec 29, 2019 at 08:27 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt LT Sedan FWD

Question type: General

I recently got into an accident and I'm don't know much about cars. I'm just
trying to get an idea of what needs to be replaced. I got some advice from a
friend but I'm not sure they're accurate

no, it has an axle beam and supports, it's not like a front suspension with an upper and lower control arm. Example pic below. Take it to an alignment shop for an inspection, no sense trying to guess if it's damaged, and chances are you may have damage you can't see.

Did you call your insurance agent yet? That is enough damage that your looking at a few thousand to repair. Are you buying it after you get your claim?

TDolby this was my first car and being a young driver I only had liability insurance. So this damage is not covered by my insurance company, to m.j take matters worse it was a hit and run incident, however I am going after the person who hit me. I only paid 2300 for this car and it's an 05 so it's not worth the thousands I'd need to put into it to get it back to its original form. I dont care about the body damage because it's a waste for a car that's 14 years old, I know that my axle is broken and only want to focus on getting that fixed.

If you know who did it their insurance will take care of it. Car looks like a write off to me though. I'd start shopping if I was you.
