help find an solution toyota 160 carburator stalls while driving the revs goes high then low even pressing acelrater it switches off completely once engine is switched off un able to restart i had to tow my car home

I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The car remains in along high ref of ±1500 when stopping at robots or stops before returning to a normal ref 1000. It has never happened before. What is the reason.
