1994 Corolla won't start

Hi. My car is an automatic. Battery light came on and then it died while driving. Never
turned on again. It felt like the brake engaged itself before dying according to my
daughter.
A couple days before the brake icon came on my dashboard once or twice but only for
a short time. I had my tires changed recently and guy says brakes looked good. Tried
jump start, nothing. Battery is good though and connectors are solidly on. So, if I rule
out battery/connectors, what could it be?
I had the starter replaced four months ago. Fired up like a champ every time. I need
this car up and running today.

Check the negative battery connections on the frame and motor. You say battery ok. How many volts is it showing on a multi meter?
Most times battery light coming on points straight to battery issue(dead) (or alternator not charging it=dead battery) or dirty/loose battery connections either at battery, main fuse box or negative connections on frame and/or motor.
Yep, if it dies in motion the engine, even an automatic, will make it feel like brake was applied. Everything dandyoun said, couldn't agree more, only thing left is starter solenoid
Thank you both for your response. I'm working my way down the list. I will get a volt meter and check the voltage. After trying to jump kept cables hooked to my batter and touched the other end to see if there's juice and there was---not an official read though.
If it does turn out to be a dead battery. Check output voltage of your alternator as soon as you get her running again. If it not putting out 14.5 or so volts it will not keep battery charged and your car will go dead again when battery is drained down.
Thanks. My friend said there were a bunch of fuses blown in the interior fuse box on front driver's side. It got too late to work on the car but he should be back today and hopefully we can get it running. I'll keep you posted. Thank you for all the advice!
My 1994 toyota corolla the battery is trying to start. But won't.
