why does car hesitate occasionally

had recent tune up--also first time replace fuel filter...210.000
miles...mechanic had trouble getting gas to stop leaking at fuel filter and even
had to put a O ring on it---ever since car occasionally hesitates and check
engine light comes on---also sometimes when idling it will idle up some and
sometimes at idle it dies out

Did he replace the distributor coil, this is a common problem, also check the injectors they may be clogged

he changed spark plug wires and plugs, rotary button and dist, cap pcv valve and fuel filter---also changed oil and filter---oh, and he also replaced air filter.... I will talk with him about your advice etc. also, about 6 months after all this I had to have another gas tank installed due to leak but still leaks if u fill it up....
