Toyota corolla 1995 1.8 crank but don't start

Considering your battery died while driving you should consider having your alternator tested (free at many auto parts stores), it could be cause or a loose/ broken wire. The crankshaft position sensor controls spark (testable with a mutimeter) as does the Ignition Control Module (ICM aka. igniter). I need to periodically clean the terminals on the ICM on my 97 Tercel or it will cut out-cut in occasionally while driving like it skips a beat (NOT a misfire). I learned that lesson on the side of the road when it cut right and wouldnt restart UNTIL I unplugged/ plugged in the connector for it, I drove away without another incidence for months.
