It's gettin' old- these are great cars and run forever- change the oil, put in some 50 weight, and just keep drivin' it-

Noooooo!!!!! Do not listen to that idiot. No 50 weight!!!!!!!!!. That will destroy your motor. It is too thick for an aluminum block. Highmileage is all you need. 10w30 at most. NOTHING THICKER. And it is more likely doing it at start up when cold. Right? Go get some prolong engine treatment and add it to the oil. Not only will it shut the noise up by allowing the engine to be lubricated even when off and cold. But it reduces friction. Thus allowing better gas mileage, performance, and cooling. AGAIN, DO NOT LISTEN TO THAT IDIOT. HE PROBABLY OWNS A CHEVY FROM THE 70'S. THEY HAD IRON BLOCKS AND THAT WAS JUST FINE FOR THEM. BUT NOT A TOYOTA. IT HAS AN ALUMINUM ENGINE. OIL PORTS ARE HALF THE DIAMETER. THEREFORE THAT WILL BURN OUT YOUR OLD OIL PUMP AND STARVE YOUR MOTOR OF OIL. YOU WILL BE BROKE DOWN COMPLETELY IN A FEW MONTHS.

Mikiet33 name-calling is juvenile and will get you nowhere. jamnblues is smarter than you are, I guarantee it. The 1ZZ FE was the first aluminum block, introduced in 1998.

Today's motor oils need NO ADDITIVES. Be it conventional or synthetic, it has everything it needs for proper lubrication and will do nothing and waste money. Find out what you are talking about before you run your mouth

What I mean by "it's getting old" is it is now 20 years old- that's old- and for both of you- that is a 20th Century Car- we are in the 21st Century now- I have had those old Tototas- my son drives one and my daughter has one too- THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO DESTROY THOSE CARS!! short of driving it into a brick wall- lol- If you want to go to my page you will see I don't drive old American iron- how many miles on that engine? you don't say- and if it upsets you so much, put 40W in it instead- now- I have wasted enough time on you two-
