97 toyota corolla ce sometimes it over heats temp will go down once ac is on

Bad fan relay,you have two one for ac and one for normal use,the normal coolant fan is not cutting on to cool motor.When you cut ac on ,,ac fan picks up the slack for the other one that is not working.At half way tempeture that fan should cut on automatically.Check your fan relays located under hood in fuse panel.

If your car is only equipped with one fan,check fan motor relay

Take the wire of the fan switch Ground. It if the fan comes on Replace switch of not replace relay Always check fusses
