A/C system

Asked by GuruT6TTB Jul 17, 2018 at 11:30 PM about the 1998 Toyota Corolla CE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

how much oil does the complete A / C system of my
corolla 1998 need including the compressor?

1 Answer

44,020

Most systems take about five ounces. That's what they come with brand new. Oil being a liquid, stays in there even if the "Freon" (134a) sometimes leaks out because it's a gas. You don't have to "change the oil" or add any unless you replaced a major component that would contain that oil like the compressor, accumulator, evaporator, or condenser.
