my seat belt indicator on dashboard is glowing even after putting the seat belt

Please suggest me if there is any simple fix to this problem without taking the car to a garage. The issue is not continues. It works some times and sometimes it doesn't work. I doubt some button issue.

I have a '99 corolla with the same issue. it seems to be related to some weakness in the seatbelt return, according to my dealer. He said it is not really worth the expense to have it taken apart as long as the belt holds if you jerk it.

My driver seat belt light stays on when I start the car and put it on but it goes out when I take off the seat belt even when I'm driving??? The light only stays on when I have ithe seat belt on. Can anybody explain this?
