What is the hose suppose to be connected to?

Cant figure out origin of a hose?
I poured leak sealant into the top of my 2002
corolla engine when you add the engine oil an
found it immediately leaking out of a short hose
sticking out of the fire wall, what is the hose
suppose to be connected to?
