Interchange information is easily checked using car parts sites , especially used car parts sites. I use it routinely to check compatibility and find the right part for a reasonable price and have it shipped or go get it. I needed a white tailgate for a late model Tundra and there were two - one in Texas, one in NY - I went to NY, swapped the handle and rear camera thing over and avoided a $1500 hit from the trade in.

Checking that site, the '06 with a VIN letter in the 5th position of Y can go into '05s and '06s with the same VIN situation. The '06 with an R in the 5th position can be used with '05s to '08s (that's all I saw), again of similar VIN situation. this is the 1ZZFE engine. Now the plot thickens - hence your reasonable question. For the '02 our donor situation is guided by and R in the 5th position and the engine label is 1ZZFE, so lets see what years are interchangeable. The list includes '00, 01 and 02. and thats it. So something happened in the transitions from 02 to 03 and 04 to 05 that rendered incompatibility. Look at the transmissions, the exhaust paraphernalia, sensors, linkages engine mounts, etc. Here looking up new replacement parts for both vehicles that are engine related will give clues as to what has changed and what hasn't. In your best scenario, you'll be able to change some external mating parts and replace some sensors and be good to go, but you'll have to think it through.
No its not posible to fit i have a 2001 corolla with a 2002 engine on it this car gen goes from 2000 to 2002 it does not fit because first of motor mounts are way diferent , second exhaust manifold .
