You can get one for a little as $50 from Amazon, personally I have an Actron CP9580 that I bought from Amazon for $180. But it is more of a scanner that I really need for a shade-tree mechanic that I am. The get as high as $400. Go to - https://actron.com/content/obd-ii-auto-scanner-plus
You guys are right -- I had to go outside to see what model number I have. t-shoes is right, 'live data ' function is important and the $50 ones do not, but the one I have does
Wow, $15.98 --- Tom, never ever heard of a scanner that cheap -- or better put inexpensive, not cheap as in low quality
Based on my car scanner experience. A Bluetooth obd reader is best. Couple with a smart car inspector App like www.CarDr.com and you can detect all DTCs and gather great on board diagnostic data. I saw that they sell an obd Bluetooth adaptor as well at https://cardr.com/
