hi everyone...i have a question and i hope someone has an answer...i have this noise coming from under the hood, its like a rattling sound almost and its been there for so long that i don't even think about it anymore but someone came up to me the other day and said they thought it was the alternator or the alternator pullies maybe...not sure...if anyone has any clue about this i would really appreciate it if you could help me out...thanx

If this person has a clue on automobiles, then it wouldn't hurt to get that checked out. It is important to have all that working, the serpentine belt and pulleys, maybe the alternator, or you could be stranded somewhere. It just may be a heat shield around the exhaust. Just have it looked at.

Without actually listening to the noise, u need to try to see and tell us if noise has some type of pattern like louder when engine is cold or hot, as u accelerate, in gear, A/C on, things like that
