question i'm still having the same problem my car is still popping out of fourth gear and now I have to hold it down in the fourth gear the whole time this is the third time my car has been in the shop first time they fix the shifter cables second time they fix the shifter fork and now they can't figure out what else it could be in they've had my at least a month and a half now

The only way this can be fixed,is rebuild tranny,or replace it,it is the shifter sancronizer,s inside the tranny that is doing this,anything done outside will not fix the problem.

My 2003 Toyota Corolla with 175,000 miles was showing the check engine light. My friend ran a check and the code P0770 came up, which is Shift Solenoid 'E' Malfunction. When I'm on the freeway, I do notice my car is slow on accelerating, but my MPG is fine. How much would it cost to get this fix? Also, would I fail the California SMOG check? I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla with 130K miles. We recently had a lot of rain and the water line on the car indicates that the yard was flooded up to about mid bumper on the car. The car did have about 1/4 inch of standing water in floor. The car idled a little rough when first started, but drove fine for a couple short trips from the house. The third trip was about a mile and a half away and the car stopped on us. We now cannot get it to stay running unless our foot is on the gas. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong with it? 3 Answers
