land cruiser trans oil change

Asked by Youssef May 31, 2020 at 01:02 PM about the 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

is it recommended to change transmission fluid oil on a milage 159,000 for
toyota land cruiser sx 1995 prado diesel engine, as the fluid color is brownish
am thinking to drain and topup fluid plus changing the trans filter without doing
complete flush is it alright ?and the trans condition is good theres no slipping
or other bad symptoms, its running good .

thanks for your answer but just to make sure , first i should drain the trans from the bottom which only 40 or 50 % will be drained and i top up the new trans fluid and change the filter plus adding the transX to the recommended level right ? what is encouraging me to do it, that there's no sign of trans slipping its still holding nicely .

I would change the fluid, start the car and drive it a few miles and then drain and fill again before adding the TransX. This will get rid of most of the oxidized(brown) fluid.
