Having any other issues w/ power loss and less gas mileage? My Oxygen Sensors and Air/Fuel Ratio Sensors started going bad, dealer had vehicle 5 times and still no clue. My VSC, Trac Control, and suspension all were disabled due to sensors!
Thanks...as a matter of fact my cruise control was not functioning properly. A dealer told me my voltage is low, which might be the problem with both, but was not definitive as to a solution. The dealer did find about 5 grand of other things that just had to be fixed. Long story short, my regular mechanic disconnected the anti-lock brakes. Not sure who should get credit, but both are now working properly.
Hmmm............he disconnected your ABS? Not a small oversight, but glad you found your problem. Electrical and sensor problems seem to elude the $90 diagnostic.........5 times. Sometimes these forums seem the only real answer to a problem, how I found out what was wrong with mine!
My brevity my have caused some confusion. My regular mechanic disconnected my ABS on purpose. My guess is that the disconnection caused the system to reset, or reboot. I have had no problems with the VSC since.
Instead of disconnecting the ABS try resetting the ECU by disconnecting the battery waiting 15 sec for the system to reset and then try again this worked on older models
