My "new to me" 1990 Toyota
pickup v6 3.0L... Is it normal for oil
pressure to fluctuate with R.P.M. s
??? If yes, wouldn't lugging the

Idle is enough to build pressure, may could go up alittle but not from say 0 - 40 lbs.

Thanks for the info... My gage for oil pressure goes from 10-40 with RPMs but only after its warmed up and so Im going to have to replace the oil pump next.... \=°}

As a rule of thumb: 10 psi of oil pressure per 1000 rpms.

I would check the pressure sender unit to gauge to be sure its fine by testing a known good gauge or tester in place of your gauge.
