Why is my 1991 Toyota Previa slow to start?
I have been driving a 1991 Toyota Previa All-Trac since September 2016 and the vehicle has been very (3-6 seconds) but starts every time. The starter just keeps cranking and then starts up. Once running, the performance is normal at slow and fast speeds. Normal acceleration as well. Smooth idle. If I start the car, let it run for a minute, then turn it off. 9 times out of 10 if I try to start it right away, it fires right up without the delay. But if it sits, the delay reappears. I changed the fuel filter ( no change to delay) and the starter had been replaced in September. I am thinking maybe initial pressure is taking longer than normal to build up on start, maybe the fuel pressure regulator?
