How do you reset the MAINT REQ light on a Toyota Rav 4 (2004) ?

True. No dispute. But if it's the same as my Corolla, ....Press the trip odometer button and hold it down. Turn on the key to "acc" while holding the button. Do not crank the engine. Hold the position for five seconds and turn the ignition key off. Release the button.

Whomever did the oil change should/could have done it. This is, of course, you took it somewhere to have it done. My mechanic, who also does all my oil changes, resets for me.

That doesn't address the question. I want to do it myself.

Sorry, the way you wrote your questions does NOT necessarily say you want to "do it myself". If you had added the word "myself" at the end of your sentence, I would have never offered a suggestion. People improperly use "I" all the time, so my fault for not taking you literally. And, if you had done what DavidH25 said, you could have just ignored me anyway.
