The RAV 4's 2001-2003 and 2004 are having ECM problems and the codes point to other problems because the ECM ( the brain) doesn't think it had a problem. The recall is for 2001 - 2003 but the 04's are having the same problem. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to remove your then you can send it to Brooklyn NY to have it repaired for less tan 300 dollars or you can have the dealership tell you for 6500 they need to replace the transmission and ECM because the ECM will not reconize the new transmission. I sent my RAV 4 to Brooklyn 2 days later I had the ECM back put it back in ran the car for 15 minutes and drove it for a day. Just like new. What a relief it was thought my car was a goner.
