05 equinox 5 speed automatic don't run good?

Asked by asher3100 May 03, 2014 at 10:50 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Equinox LT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Sometimes my  equinox acts like it don't want to start until the second or third try, Then sometimes it seems like its missing when I go up hills? and tonight it acted like it didn't want to start then the third time it finally did then I put it in reverse backed up and put it in drive an it cut off, an I like to never got it to start back so the third time I got it to crank a little so I pushed the gas to the floor an it started but after I got on the road it seemed like it just didn't have any power to go? can you tell me what might be the problem and what I need to do?

is your check engine light on? sounds like a ignition misfire. what your spark plugs look like? is it individual coil packs on this engine? sorry im more familiar with euro cars.

I had issues starting my equinox. I took it to the dealer and they did a fuel system clean and flush. It was "gunked" up from engine emissions and that was keeping it from starting. Now it starts every time. They recommend doing this every 15 to 30k.
